Samuca e a Selva combines a striking sonic identity with a discography recognized throughout the Brazilian popular music scene. Through collective creation, engagement with their audience, and collaborations with major musical figures, the group brings together a body of work that expresses their artistic diversity.
Nominated for the Brazilian Music Award for the album “Madurar,” the collective also created “Tudo Que Move é Sagrado,” a tribute to songwriter Ronaldo Bastos featuring Criolo, Liniker, Luedji Luna, and Catto, as well as “Ditados Populares Dançantes,” composed entirely in collaboration with fans on social media. Both works were included in the APCA (São Paulo Association of Art Critics) list of the 50 best Brazilian albums.
The EP “SummerLove: o verão dos amantes,” produced by Grammy-nominated Xuxa Levy, features Milton Guedes and received international recognition on the NPR program “Toast of the Nation,” hosted by Christian McBride.
In “Pra Gente Se Acabar,” Samuca e a Selva presents 13 tracks featuring appearances by Carlos Dafé, the prince of Brazilian soul, two-time Brazilian Music Award winner Silvia Machete, and the group Abacaxepa. With positive reception from both audiences and critics, and coverage in outlets such as Rolling Stone, Billboard, and G1, the album also gained an audiovisual dimension through 13 films—one for each track—produced in partnership with Outros Filmes and available on the band’s YouTube channel.
Through songs, collaborations, and audiovisual experiments, Samuca e a Selva asserts an artistic vision that connects music, dance, and collaborative creation.
